Youth voices are a critical component in the interpretation of data and dissemination of GEAS results. Five sites (Santiago, Shanghai, Blantyre, Kinshasa, Indonesia, and New Orleans) have assembled local Youth Advisory Boards that receive training on topics including ethics, research, and advocacy, and then use these skills to embark on their own projects. Youth representatives from each of these sites also now make up the GEAS Global Youth Advisory Board, which provides critical insight in current and future study activities.
