Chioma Okerulu, MPH Student
Chioma Okerulu is a Research Assistant for the Global Early Adolescent Study.
She is a physician by training with extensive experience in maternal and child health initiatives. She now applies her expertise to adolescent health research. Her background in coordinating HIV prevention and care programs in Nigeria lends valuable insights into promoting sexual and reproductive health. Chioma has led efforts to reduce mother-to-child HIV transmission rates in Nigeria. Her data-driven, culturally grounded approach is key to developing impactful adolescent health interventions. Chioma's passion for health equity shapes her research aiming at reducing disparities in adolescent well-being. She is currently pursuing her MPH at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and as part of the GEAS team, she develops critical resources to advocate for adolescent-focused programs and youth-led organizations. She aims to translate her frontline experiences into cutting-edge research, pushing boundaries to create a healthier future for the next generation.
